At Lowmead State School, students are provided with a high-quality, inclusive learning program from Kindergarten to Year 6. Students in Prep to Year 6 engage in learning across the Australian Curriculum, with teaching and learning experiences designed to meet individual needs and support every student to achieve success.

Our Kindergarten program is delivered within the wider P–6 school environment and is guided by the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG). Through play-based, inquiry-rich experiences, children are supported to develop their language, social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills while building confidence as learners. Meaningful opportunities to interact with older peers, participate in whole-school activities and become familiar with school routines help foster a strong sense of belonging and support a positive transition into Prep.

As a small rural school, we value the unique opportunities afforded by our multi-age setting, where students learn alongside and from one another, develop positive relationships across year levels, and are supported to grow as capable, confident and connected learners.
